Jo Jin-Gab (Kim Dong-Wook) was once a promising judo athlete. He protested against corruption at a game and he was kicked out of the sport. After that, Jo Jin-Gab became a gym teacher. Again, he could not control his anger against the son of the school's chairman. Jo Jin-Gab was once again kicked out of his profession.

Jo Jin-Gab then successfully pass the exam to become a public officer. Working as a public officer, he does not have to worry about being kicked out of his job. He tries to live peacefully, but he is then transferred to work as a labor inspector at the Ministry of Employment and Labor. Facing many people who wield their power unjustly, Jo Jin-Gab reverts back to his old self.

Overall: Great 10/10. There's comedy, action, feel-good vibes, drama, corruption, very sad scenes, and a happy ending. :)

Well, all I can say is, PD Park has shown that he can do it much better himself, cos Special Labor Inspector Jo is by far the best drama among all his shows. Of course it helps that the writer and the cast are excellent, but the consistent tone and pace, the snappiness of the dialogue and action, must have to large part been down to him. Looking forward to his next drama.

LKB May 28 2019 6:29 pm This was really gratifying to watch til the end. No one was always right/perfect/pure/true, none were without oftentimes fatal flaws... They were caricatures in how they acted at times but it served the purpose better than always being overly serious and stoic, bleh! Chemistry was amazing start to finish in it and the bromance...oh, the bromance! Cute heteronorm couples, too, though normal/typical is not a way to describe anyone, from the dolphins screeching as their sonar doesn't seem to work above water to the reformed Do Ha... Lots of people who without being excessively model-like/flowerboy ish/idol-like proves truly charming and kept getting better looking by the hour, literally. Definitely undervalued in the world where so many kdramas are just recycling old shows, putting too-pretty look but don't touch unapproachable people in too perfect love stories or sob fests-this is that middle ground often missing. It moves you slowly the way real life events tend to, over time and with so much effort and deliberation day to day. I didn't always love the way some acted over the top, but apart from that obnoxious wink the lead does that looks a bit like the face of dog sneezing confusedly, well, the plot with its twists, the difficulty in achieving goodness that was so real to life, and generally the lack of tired old cliches and reworked overdone stories...those made it great-tons of cast members and apart from a couple of oversimplified goons you can't really flesh out all of and still keep the episodes moving, well,ALL the characters were given really cool unique humans resembling roles and even minor characters got to shine and be avengers for a day!! Fun viewing that hits serious topics without dragging you into misery...that takes more effort and tweaking and skill than they make it appear! It looks effortless which means they have done it really well-and I like the tough fighting ladies any day any time! The only overly princess like character, the lady prosecutor, had, right alongside Do Ha, her redemption, her breaking point where she cannot ignore the people harmed and she also was just SO soft hearted for exactly one person but patient and enduring with the likes of an obnoxious labor inspector who was going to harass her if he couldn't just have a talk (and let her be deceived by his in her faceness so she would not have reason, much like the phone calling scheme that had Do Ha himself act...she was utilized wisely after all and not just a pretty face. I love that she was so back and forth, so selfish but still wishing for a way to be ethical and safe at the same time, hard when a politician of great wealth is always surveiling ya)...stellar balance way nearer to real life than most roles where they are normal acting but say and do things totally out of a bad fiction novel with no human basis for ideas and behaviors within characters. Who knew the exaggerated behaviors would ultimately bring the balance their world desperately needed?!

I live in a country where the justice system also has prosecutors that investigate and coordinate the police work and this would be unthinkable in here. She would never have that case.

I want to see more of Park Se Young though. It seems her character has been sidelined. Hopefully this will change over the next few episodes. I’m happy as with SLIMJ keep up the good work.
