Rhonda Jul 22 2023 1:16 am I was in the world games in cowshung several years ago and met the United States sumo wrestling president Troy Collins and his group of wrestlers. I didn't know very much about the sport but was blessed to spend a couple of days with several sumo wrestlers why they were there to compete. This was a great show and I wish I had watched it years ago when I was in the presence of these great athletes. Much respect....

James huffman Jul 13 2023 8:18 pm This was a very addicting series, can't wait for more seasons to binge watch like a Sumo myself Acting was great, story great, characters relatable, women beautiful, it was dramatic, suspenseful and even had some comedy which reminded of hints of anime thrown in. Rachelle May 22 2023 9:07 pm As a child I was fascinated with the pomp and pageantry of Sumo wresting. As an American born of Filipino/Japanese/Scottish heritage this may be the underlying reason. Japanese- In the US , Sumo is rarely to never found on any network. Sanctuary was an insightful look into the world of Sumo. Deeply steeped in tradition, hard work, and then the dedication of the athletes quite impressive. Loved the movie but not the ending as we were waiting for more! Like movies in the 50’s and 60’s- leave it to your imagination!

Rider May 09 2023 9:44 am I watch sumo highlights on NHK. Each bout seems more a dry ritual than a battle of emotions and wills. Sanctuary - though fictional - was wonderfully different. The ending - in my mind - was perfect. When they face off, and both fists are on the ground - everything that they are, everything that they experienced - all reaches a climactic crushing of wills and skill. An epic moment.
