After her uncle’s death, Yoon Seo-Ha (Kim Hyun-Joo) inherits their family gravesite from her late uncle. Since then, Yoon Seo-Ha gets involved with some inauspicious incidents. She has a younger step-brother, Kim Young-Ho (Ryu Kyung-Soo), who throws her into even more confusion.

Meanwhile, Detective Choi Sung-Jun (Park Hee-Soon) suspects the recent incidents that have taken place in the village are related to Yoon Seo-Ha’s family gravesite. He investigates further. At the police station, Choi Sung-Jun has an antagonistic relationship with Park Sang-Min (Park Byung-Eun). He is the chief of the detective squad where Choi Sung-Jun works. Due to a case that took place in the past, his boss holds a sense of inferiority and jealousy towards Choi Sung-Jun .

o k j a Apr 02 2024 12:10 am if you've ever liked british crime dramas this is a very good korean version. fans of "river", "broadchurch" and maybe even "happy valley" will like this. for canadian viewers it's a korean version of "cardinal" (not a bad thing since that was a beautiful show).

the cast is strong...especially kim hyun-joo and park hee-soon. she's wonderful at playing someone whose life gets nuked in a short amount of time and he's just great in a general understated way. they both do "pathos" well.

Renwa Jan 28 2024 1:36 am Usually not my genre, I’ve gotten to enjoy suspense dramas. The Bequeathed was entertaining although a bit over the top with regard to gratuitous violence at times. The actors were terrific with so many of our favs. The story had an interesting twist at the end which seemed to tie things together. It did have the feel of a long action movie. Moderately entertaining for one evening’s sitting.

Got me really excited with the trailer thinking it will be a horror drama but once I started watching, it turned out to be a thriller mystery and I was hooked from the first 10 mins!
