Young-Ho (Kang Ha-Neul) doesn't have any dreams for his life. He has been studying 3 years to enter a university. He decides to send a letter to his childhood friend So-Yeon. But her younger sister So-Hee (Chun Woo-Hee) receives the letter instead of her sick sister. So-Hee writes back to Young-Ho, pretending to be So-Yeon. Meanwhile, So-Hee takes care of her sick sister and also runs a secondhand bookstore with her mother.

Aaron Feb 03 2026 7:27 pm Nice movie. Wonderfully written. I loved some of the dialogue and character insights (e.g., "Not everyday is a good day, just as not every rainy day is a bad day" - Bookworm; or "Following hardship is more hardship" - Jong Guk's father).

Jillibean Oct 14 2022 1:58 pm It was a lovely movie, no wonder why Kang Ha Neul said he cried when he read the script while in the military. I understand the epilogue, but I think the script was kind of deceptive in showing the ailing sister in the hospital So Yeon listening to her sister So Hee reading Kang Ha Neul's character's letters as if the events involved in their childhood were So Yeon's memories, when they were not. That seemed off to me, and probably was the reason the writer made So Yeon mute. Overall, I think Kang Ha Neul's character would have been better off with Kang Sora's character as his life partner, rather than some girl he hadn't seen since elementary school! Oh those romantic Koreans and their first love obsessions! :)

wayer Sep 07 2021 8:22 am Such a wonderful movie. Love it to bits. The songs complements the scenes too, I wonder are those songs were golden hits? The timeline can be a bit fuzzy, the thing that keep me on track is Kang Haneul hairstyles ? apart from that, all is good. There's melancholy, love, hope, miracle all in one. Refreshing. And the ending is as bright as the headlights shining onto Youngho ?

I can’t stop thinking the moment Youngho gave umbrella to Soojin and she was hiding her crying face to him ??? Kang Haneul best actor indeed!!! Kang Sora played an important role to this. Chun Woohee is a revelation. can’ wait to see these 3 in a drama as good as this one.

Like another typical slow paced drama, the transition between scene escalated sluggishly yet that kind of direction makes the movie enjoyable and pushed me to finish the movie. Love the finishing touch

hahaha, i was quite surprised too.. To me, Lim Ju Hwan has distinctive voice.. even if it's only a sentence, but I'm pretty sure I can guess it..
