Hyun-Woo (Yong Joon-Hyung) is a webtoon writer. He is popular and handsome, but he is not nice to people. Hyun-Woo also does not believe in love. His trainee is Seul-Bi (Kim Min-Young). She is cute and chubby. Seul-Bi has had a crush on Hyun-Woo for a long time. Yet, she has never told Hyun-Woo about her feelings. One day, Seul-Bi drinks coffee and she suddenly finds herself changed into a beautiful woman. She names herself Oh Go-Woon (Chae Seo-Jin).

Dee May 20 2025 3:37 pm First of all, I enjoy kdrama a lot since middle school. Now I'm in late 20s. This kdrama is actually pretty simple and fun. Easy to watch. If you want heavy kdrama you can try Sky Castle or others, I'm just here chilling with iced coffee, snacks and my dog, vibing with this drama. Some are having a hard time in real life and comforting, funny, simple romcom kdrama like this never fail to warm my nights. I agree that people have their own preference, but there are people who enjoy light, lovey-dovey kdrama like this.

So please don't stop making this type of drama!

Ryunami Jun 18 2024 7:49 am Till these days I regretted watching this drama. I thought it is something good with coffee mentioned in the plot. But I was wrong. I can't undo what I had seen and heard but if only I can turn back the time.

The story of the coffee started good, but a few episodes in, they didn't focus on the coffee that makes the Female Lead change the appearance and the story faded into nothing and everything dumb!

This drama tested every last bit of my patience and I stopped around ep. 6 or 7. I would have forgiven some misteps here and there if they had promoted the message of loving oneself and that beauty isn't a standard, but they did the opposite; a slim girl called a goddess and the leading lady being mocked for being oversized.

But this is not the fault of the actresses. They did the best with what was given to them but I am still angry for what a crappy script the female actresses were handed. Their acting were good till the limit of my rising temper.

Should you watch Coffee, Please?/Coffee, Do Me A Favor? No. Coffee, Please?/Coffee, Do Me A Favor is not a good drama, and you should not watch it.

Also boycott the future works of both the director and the writers.

This was so bad. Except for the characters realizing that are superficial and greedy by the end there was no real character development. It just came down to if your not pretty and skinny you better just love yourself, because it doesn’t seem like anyone else is going to love you. The plain girl just has to be happy that she has some talent and appreciate that someone will at least be a friend.

The stereotype that love is just about looks is upheld in this drama. The lead male falls madly in love because of how she looks on the outside and her personality, but he can’t love her if she’s plain Jane even though she’s the same person inside.

Constant digs at a girl that is a little overweight are just horrible. If you want to be depressed by all means watch this one.

My score 2/10.

Oti Jan 24 2019 3:49 am So, this drama had potential plot, but not enough character development. They seemed too flat, and not enough individualality. The male lead and the female lead had zero chemistry. You could see the female did but the male actor looked so generic, fake. Maybe it’s his acting skill or he just didn’t know how to act with the actress. Also I wish that SB was more present in the show. Although SB and SJ were basically the same person, SJ made more of an appearance on the show than SB.i hope the writer’s didn’t do that purposely just bcus SB is a big girl And didn’t want her appearing too much in the series. The ending was good, but was too rushed. This drama also was supposed to have 16 eps but only had 12. Sucks though cause maybe just maybe if this drama stayed on for 16 eps we would’ve maybe seen mor chemistry between the main characters.anyways out of 5 stars I give this a 2 stars, why not the 2 star it deserves, wel it’s becus the plot had potential for a good story, but it didn’t fulfill its true potential...

Rc137 Jan 12 2019 9:02 pm People are so hypocritical (complaining about fat shaming and/or beauty standards). Would they date/marry someone they find unattractive (for whatever reason)? Probably not. So why complain and give bad rating when the characters (leads) act according to what they like?

taratheweeb Jan 12 2019 1:15 am OUT OF 5 STARS: 3.5. the drama had a very sweet welcoming message and that is to love yourself before you can truly love others (sounds like recent albums by a popular Korean boy band with exactly seven members? ? ?). HOWEVER the main goal of me watching this was to see the chubby girl get the guy. I didn't care too much for Go Woon, in fact Seul Bi was much prettier in my opinion and if she would've wore something other than her grandmother's table cloths then she could've rocked the show. the only reason I wouldn't give this a solid 5 stars is because the ending was waayyyyy too open and I didn't get the satisfaction of knowing whether or not they are dating and feels like I wasted 12+hrs of my life waiting for that moment and not even getting it. Do I recommend this? If you've really just got time to kill then yes. if you have insecurities then double yes. just don't expect too much romance from the main lead couple. I'm seriously mad everyone got to do cutesy things in the end except for them >:( >:( >:c

I just watch 2 episode and seriously want to continue next episode... it get me emotional.... anyway I LOVE MORE seul bi than go woon

nengnong Dec 31 2018 4:33 am I think this drama is pretty bad. they announced if there would be 16 episodes, but why did it end in episode 12? the storyline is so rushed. I'm happy with the end of the story, but, I can't feel the chemistry between them. resolving conflicts is also very impressed fast and easy as if it could be completed in 1 day even though their conflict about love. Maybe if it's not accelerated, this drama will be even better. rating of 2/5

Ginger Crunch Dec 24 2018 3:03 am I started this drama with high hopes and I enjoyed seeing Seul Bi make an impression on her boss and co workers with her artistic talent as a cartoonist. However when Go Woo appears that’s when this story started to go AWOL. I’m frustrated and extremely annoyed and the only reason why I’m still watching is because I like the supporting characters and I want Seul Bi/Go Woon to be outed and to get her comeuppance when her coffee maker disappears and her true self is revealed.

But.. why Go Woon charachter different with Seul bi? it's seem like GW know writer Im will have feeling with her. And i don't like how GW manners to Kang Ye Na. YN is her boss too, and why YN doesn't like her because she love writer Km. i just finished ep5. I think i don't want shippering writer Im & Seul bi anymore. If writer Im like GW, don't hurt our Seul bi. Dear writer Im.. I thought you just different with others man (seeing woman by their physic)

Macky Dec 10 2018 12:42 pm The show is disappointing to me so far. The first episode got me hooked so quickly and then it just went down hill from there. I really liked the idea of a chubby female lead but as the show progresses it becomes apparent that she really isn't the lead at all. The last 2 episodes we've barely gotten a glimpse of her. Appearing mainly at the beginning and end of each episode for like 2 minutes.

Now for Chae Seo-Jin I really don't dislike the character she's portraying but the personality and mannerisms are nothing like the character Kim Min-Young plays. It really makes no sense. They are literally just different characters all together. I'll continue giving it a shot for a couple more episodes with hopes that the real Seul-Bi gains some of her screen time back. If that's not the case I'll probably end up dropping the show. Sucks because I was really excited for this show in the beginning.

That the writer keeps use the first female lead who are more fit with standard beauty than the first female lead. In conclusion that the fat and not beauty standard they don't deserve to play role even they are in position as the first female lead.
