Plot
Set in 1950s Taiwan during the oppressive White Terror period, The Wall reflects on a painful period in Taiwan history that is rarely covered on the big screen.
One night A-chen (Huang Tsai Yi), newly wed to A-yi (Ann-Shuin Yiu), wakes up in the middle of the night and hears another man in the next room. She slowly walks towards the kitchen, the source of the sound, but suddenly a hand reaches out and grabs her from behind. Just as she's about to scream, she realizes it's her husband. A-yi tells her there is a man hiding in the kitchen wall. His socialist Japanese mentor Kimura (Kageyama Yukihiko) is being hunted by the government operatives, and Yi, whose respect for Kimura approaches love, is determined to protect him at costs.
