Plot
This drama is about harsh fate awaiting one woman, Ruriko (Megumi Yokoyama), as she finds real love, and goes through transitions in her life. It is also a romantic story about a woman's fight to save her soul. The original story of Pearl Beauty, which ran in newspapers during the Taisho period, was written by literary magnate Kan Kikuchi. The work depicted a new way of life for women in that period, which helped it to earn popularity.
