Plot
Today is Mo-rae and Sang-in’s one-year wedding anniversary. After a busy morning preparing for the celebration, Mo-rae goes to an art gallery to find a gift for Sang-in. At the gallery, she meets a complete stranger and the two unexpectedly have sex. Mo-rae returns home feeling anxious and guilty about the incident and cannot help but confess it to Sang-in. That night, a visitor arrives at their house; Du-rae, who came from Paris to help Sang-in with his new business. To Mo-rae’s shock, he is the man from the gallery. He temporarily lives with the couple in their house and a risky love triangle begins.

The Du-rae is the father. The girl is with him. Sang-in has accepted this and only wants Mo-rae to be happy so he tries to bring them together. And in truth he misses Du-rae.

This film makes me feel like puke. The cuckolded husband and unfaithful wife don't deserve any sympathy. I know it's only a film, but I cannot come to terms with the idea of a happy threesome...

The postcard says: His current address and says "if you miss me..." In other words, Du Ra misses them both and wants to be found.
What confuses me is Sang in said he misses Du Ra, so he will find hime, but before he needs bring Mo Ra back first and then shows the picture of three in the same bed. Does this mean he will accept the three? Mo Ra said she wanted both and that was greedy in her part when she was asked to choose what she wants be Sangin. And, when Dura was making motion of taking a photo of his belly reflected on the window he said, 'three is not possible'
So, after all at the end, Sang in is trying to get all three back because he misses being with Mora and to do so he needs to bring Du Ra back, too.
If that's the case, I don't how to accept this. But, at the same time, there's no judgement necessary either. Life is mysterious and there's no rule as to how to live, but to live fully finding true happiness...
Anyhow, the names Mora and Dura are intentional, too. It shows they are meant to be. In Korea having names end or start the same is very meaningful and in old days it was a rule to have that way in family...

With the exception of Ju Ji Hun (and who cares if he got in trouble for drugs) this movie definitely is a pass & yawn. The ending was quite a disappointment.

well.... nice movieeee.... film made me be agressive with dat beautiful charming gal Morae(ji hoon)....
ummmm sangin is a man most unlikely to be found in this world..... as shown in the movie he is quit unbelieveable (soooo not me).....
uh i think mo-rae is mean to be a young married gal (blank brain) and gets carried away by new face n hav sex with du-rea (unknown good loking guy)..... story raises up when sangin forgive morae with in a matter of seconds and doesnot want to listen more... while Durae comes to his house and start showing his love towards Morae thinking she is not happi with Sangin...
well mo-rae is just atrracted to a new man who is young and handsome and i think she is curious to know him as he is unknown, and his unique loving style....
She wants to possess both of them....
After the fight, i personally think mo-rae choosed sangin but also says how she feels in her heart.... well sangin (stupid) goes for morae's happiness and get durae back.... and may be threesome haha or just hav a couple days without sex..... but suddenly morae leaves them two (sangin and durae) and runs away from the house..... durae blames himself and as he is not strong as 'sangin' so wents back to paris..... then start the confusing parts.... when and how morae come back and get divorce and where is that child go??? and what is written in that photo???? cant understand korean...........
It is well confusing though...

Things like these happens a lot in real life, specially when the gap in the relation between husband and wife is getting wider but the reaction put in this movie are not real, not rational !
The scenario is really poor and there are a lot of things that could be said from each character specially the husband. Anyway, the story is very twisted and the husband thinking is awkward and incomprehensible...

I think more than a kiss happened between them, and it bothered me that none of the three seemed concerned about the paternity of MoRae's baby. I think DuRe reacted to news of her pregnancy as if he were the baby's father. He was excited whereas Sangin was disinterested. I thought of My Wife Got Married immediately, while watching this film. I wasn't clear what the relationship between the two guys was. Dure seemed to like Sangin alot and I thought perhaps they were lovers in Paris. My sense was that Dure wanted at first to be a trio, but then tried to have Morae to himself when it wasn't working. A heartbreaking moment for me was when Dure is crying on the airplane as he leaves them both behind. An interesting dilemma if one is not marrying for love. Is the commitment aspect of marriage more important than love? That was the real issue for MoRae. She felt it was, while DuRe loved her and wanted their love to be more important to her. There were many charming endearing moments in this film. I liked the Ji Hoon/ Mina Shin combo in the kdrama "The Devil? and was happy to see them together again. It was beautifully filmed, well acted, and worth the time watching even if I came away confused at the ending.

the ending is like moe rae decides to leave them both, du rae is upset and goes back to france, moe rae has a divorce with san in and when we see her at the beach she is just visiting his new resturant and there he proposes to her again. Actually my friend told me that was the ending but idk :P other thant the ending it was a pretty good movie!

loved the movie (similar style to antique), it was very charming, but the end....totally lost. they got divorced i think...? but thats about all that i could figure out...its like literally a love triangle, except the guys arent gay, theyre just really good friends....
most of the film really builds up to the end, and i think it could have finished brilliantly, but this was just kind of....meh.

Lisa the ending seemed intentionally open ended. Mo-rae wanted more time to think about whether to go back with Sang-in and what, if any, type of relationship she would have with Du-Re. So the answer to your question is unknown .....

Building upon the topic of marital infidelity ala “My Wife Got Married” and the recent interest in food based films like “Antique” and “Le Grand Chef,” the new Korean film ‘The Naked Kitchen” attempts to whip up a modern dish based upon a very familiar recipe: a love triangle involving one woman and two men. The spin that the “The Naked Kitchen” provides is that its main character, Mo-rae Ahn played by Min-a Shin, isn’t what you may expect - an extroverted modern woman out to get what she wants. Instead, Mo-rae has all of the innocence of say Audrey Tautou’s Amelie Poulain and in a bit of an existential moment out of Albert Camus’ “The Stranger” becomes blinded by the sun and, because of this, finds herself dipping her toes in the pool of infidelity. The film also stars up & coming actor Ji-hun Ju, who made quite a splash for himself in last year’s “Antique.” More recently, Ji-hun Ju made an even bigger splash for himself by getting involved in a drug arrest, so if you like Jin-hu Ju make sure to catch this film as you won't see him in any other films anytime soon.
In “The Naked Kitchen,” sweet & innocent Mo-rae Ahn (Min-a Shin) seems to be happily married to her first love Sang-in (played by Tae-woo Kim). One day, Mo-rae sneaks into an art museum and bumps into a man who may have also sneaked into the closed art museum. With the sound of employees walking towards them, the man pulls Mo-rae into a narrow hallway and awaits for the employees to pass by. During this moment, Mo-rae and the man stand face and face, with the bright afternoon sunlight shining straight into Mo-rae’s eyes. She starts to feel something come over her and before she realizes what is happening, Mo-rae finds herself in a passionate kiss with this unfamiliar man.
That evening Mo-rae has dinner with husband Sang-in. Still confused by what happened earlier, Mo-rae confesses to Sang-in what happened that afternoon in the art museum. Sang-in isn’t the mood to hear Mo-rae’s confession as he is busy preparing for the opening of his new restaurant. Especially when Sang-in has gone through the trouble of bringing over a chef from France to personally tutor him. When they arrive back at their home the Korean-French chef awaits for them outside of their house. To Mo-rae’s surprise, the Korean-French chef is the man she kissed passionately at the art museum …
The English title “The Naked Kitchen” is a bit of a misnomer as the movie doesn’t contain any nudity and doesn’t have much eroticism. The film takes place exclusively in trendy upscale settings, filled with well dressed food critics, chefs, & young professionals. To the movie’s detriment I did find the movie to be excessively clean. This in itself held the film back when considering the film’s topic.
What the movie eventually attempts to examine is the meaning of love as it pertains to Korean woman. Sang-in finds herself having to choose between a man that’s always there for her (possibly representing the traditional Korean male figure) and a man filled with mystery & excitement (representing the new modern Korean man). Unfortunately the script and its delivery is completely lifeless. You never get a sense of excitement or anticipation during the film’s runtime. Instead, you’re likely to find yourself yawning, while admiring the hip furniture and wondering to yourself when something of interest might come about. For bored housewives “The Naked Kitchen” may strike a chord and possibly elicit a more positive response. If you don’t fall within that group and your not a die-hard Min-a Shin / Jin-hu Ju / or Tae-woo Kim fan, then skip “The Naked Kitchen” - it has all the flavor of an unsalted cracker.
