- The band first started in 1999, when Kana Otsubo & Ken Fujieda met at the Shibuya O-Nest & decided to form a band. They felt they needed another member and found Kiyoaki Sasahara who had just quit the band Kana & Ken went to see.
- Band members' daytime jobs - Kana Otsubo = illustrator, Ken Fujieda = graphic designer, Kiyoaki Sasahara = photographer.
- The band's name "Spangle call Lilli line" was chosen by Kana Otsubo purely on the way they sound together.
