Plot

Sang-Yeol (Im Chang-Jung) isn't particularly attractive, possesses a college degree or has any sense for fashion. He works as a model for a home shopping channel, specifically for kitchen products. Sang-Yeol also has a mad crush on popular model So-Yeon (Kim Gyu-Ri), who also works for the home shopping channel. Unfortunately, So-Yeon dislikes Sang-Yeol.

Then on a rainy night, So-Yeon calls Sang-Yeol to meet for drinks. The next morning, Sang-Yeol finds himself naked in a motel room. Although Sang-Yeol can't remember what happened the night before he assumes that he slept with So-Yeon, because the front desk confirmed that he came in with a woman.

Meanwhile, So-Yeon finds herself pregnant. Her boyfriend PD Park (Kim Tae-Hoon) pushes So-Yeon to have an abortion. So-Yeon wants to have the baby so she implies to naive Sang-Yeol that she is pregnant with his baby ....

michelly from hawai'i I absolutely L O V E D this comedy/drama. Oftentimes, Asian (in general-not isolated to Korean genre) storylines or portrayal of characters or scripts don't quite make sense by Western/American standards. Basically it's common to scoff at or make fun of them. However, this movie was "2 thumbs up" (Siskel & Ebert), "5 stars" (Netflix rating), "NO KA OI" (Hawaiian for the best)!!!! Hilarious and loved the small inserts of comedy (like one character's glasses not having lenses, another's eyepatch switching eye) and I also found myself crying at the touching scenes throughout. Great acting, as well! Keep up the great work! Fighting!! \*o*/ Aloha!!!!

Gasenadi Sounds just like the second storyline in tvdrama Dalja's Spring (2007), which I just finished watching. The actresses even resemble each other! Thanks, but no thanks.

Ki I came out of the screening for "Shotgun Love" and wanted to scream out false advertisement!!! The movie poster & trailer sure does make the movie seem like a hearted comedy which I craved (especially after watching all the news on the earthquake/tsunami in Japan over the weekend). Instead, "Shotgun Love" is about 20% comedy and the rest fairly heavy drama.

Basically, the movie centers around Kim Gyu-Ri's pregnany and her fib to Lim Chang-Jung that he is the father of the baby. There's quite a bit of heavy moments in the movie which wasn't bad per se, but just not expected or even wanted with the "product" advertised as a funny comedy. If you watched "Sex is Zero" then you will know how this movie plays out as it follows the EXACT same path. Lim Chang-Jung plays pretty much the same character that he plays in every movie. Can't say I agreed or disagreed with his performance. As expected I guess. Kim Gyu-Ri had the more dynamic role and she was lukewarm.

The movie itself isn't terrible and if someone caught it on TV they would probably enjoy the movie as a passable filler material. For myself, since I paid money to watch the movie and it was packaged as a funny comedy I was rather bummed out to have go through so many heavy dramatic moments. I think anybody that enjoyed Lim Chang-Jung past films will feel right at home with "Shotgun Love". I would give it a 5.0 ...
