Plot
Hanaoka Seishu is a surgeon in the end of Edo period, who succeeded in breast-cancer operation with full anesthesia for the first time in the world. Based on Ariyoshi Sawako’s novel, the drama portraits conflicts between his mother Otsugi and his wife Kae's two women who loved and supported him. --NHK
