In the room, Haruhi unintentionally breaks an antique vase worth 8 million YEN. To repay for the broken vase, the six male members of the host club makes Haruhi join them - not realizing that Haruhi is actually a girl!

I loved the cast and they acted as comical (and close to) their anime counterparts. However, physical appearance wised, I would've loved Eiji Wentz to be Tamaki and despite loving Haruhi here, I just wished she actually cut her hair for the show instead of just wearing a wig. Both her and Tamaki's wig bothered me a bit, since you could almost see their real hair peak through during the side angle shots..

@solo_wing: Okay. So Justin Tomimori would make a better Tamaki. Yamamoto Yusuke just looks too plastic to me, if that makes any sense. Oh lord and those lips... (*_*)

@Hisui: you said "Where in the world can they ever find a half-Japanese, half-French person who look like Tamaki"
you're going to take back that words, as I find perfect actor for Tamaki than Yusuke Yamamoto. His name is Justin Tomimori. Google this name and tell me if you disagree.

I love the anime to the max, and I love the live action too, but i'm still resent over they picking Yusuke Yamamoto for Tamaki. I get it he got a lot of fans, but the perfect Tamaki as half-French and Japanese would be Justin Tomimori. He doesn't have much in his portfolio, but with all other star-studded cast, I don't think it will deter the success of the drama if the producer pick Justin over Yusuke

of all, ryusei ryo is the cutest guy aside from yudai chiba!..even though nekozawa sempai is kinda weird but when the transformation is over,he is really handsome!also,i fell inlove in this live action series rather than the anime. Because the live series is funnier. I think yusuke yamamoto can dub anime..or is he a dubber?XD daito is so smart and tecchie..masaya nakamura is so tal O.o..and he is also cute :3 the takagi twins is soooo cool.. i wish i have brothers like that:) an as for the lead character, haruna kawaguchi..she is so cute, adorable and gorgeous!..i love them all:3

    Julianne Says:

Actually, so far I've been disappointed int the early episodes. I thought Yusuke Yamamoto didn't do a good job as Tamaki cause I felt he was just being silly, and that actually wasn't Tamaki's serious nature such as in the manga. There's a difference on someone who is acting silly for a character and a person who's personality is actually like that. I do feel he got better in the latter episodes and I like how the graphics started to cease throughout the series. I can stand throwing people into walls, but the bullets ricocheting off Haruhi's head was too much for me. To me and several of my friends who loved the anime and manga, we thought the only saving grace of the series was Kyouya and Mori. But i feel that it gets better towards the end. I do admit though, my favorite scene, though it wasnt like this in the manga, was in episode 9 during Haruhi's and Hikaru's date when Kyouya and Honey dress up as a fashion-dense couple and are totally flirting and acting the part. That actually made my day when I saw that.

    Ana Says:

At first I was having doubts with the live action but after watching the first episode, I got hooked! The production paid a lot of attention to details and the cast is good, although they didn't really matched up with the appearance, the acting is really good. And I really love the effects they used to make it funnier and enjoyable.

I'm disappointed though that they got a very bad time slot which greatly affected the ratings. If they had a better one, I'm pretty sure this would be a hit, even to those who didn't know about the manga or the anime.

And I'm also disappointed they only have 12 episodes! It seemed like they're going to rush the story or even cancel out some plots in the next few episodes. I WANT MORE!

    Hisui Says:

I watched up to Episode 11. This drama is so damn funny! :D. I love the Twins and even though people have mixed reactions over him, Yusuke Yamamoto is definitely the most charming Tamaki ever! I mean, get real people. Where in the world can they ever find a half-Japanese, half-French person who look like Tamaki. It's best to make a character who is more real. Had Yusuke dye his hair, it would be like he's too fake and trying hard. Nice job for the rest! :)

THAT'S WHEN YOU'LL FALL IN LOVE WITH YUSUKE (TAMAKI) AND DAITO (KYOYA). THERE ACTING WAS A-M-A-Z-I-N-G IN THAT SHOW AND IT'S LIKE ME FAV. SHOW NOW. I RECOMMEND U GUYS WATCH IT.

He's really good on Ouran Highschool host club as Tamaki and Haruna is good at playing Haruhi! If I had to choose i would choose the prince type. Lol >.<

    Riisa Says:

I've watched episode 1 & 2 and it's actually pretty funny. I had some good laughs lol --Yamamoto Yusuke plays Tamaki well and the Haruna Kawaguchi (Haruhi) is SUPER CUTE (especially with short hair and her big eyes!)

    Kira2457 Says:

I'm a fan of the manga and anime and in truth i laughed my ass off for the first 2 episode. Yusuke does a great job as Tamaki, and Haruna is a great Haruhi her smile is completely dazzling to me, the twins are adorable of course, and Kyoya looks great :D. I believe too many people are reading too much into the show. Come on it can't be the anime and it can't completely be the manga I mean a lightbulb on top of the head does not work well on a drama series, it would just look cheesy. If you actually take the time to look at the bigger picture a child can't protray Honey on a show that promotes alot of bi-shounen stuff going on. Finally, all the actors are great and bring out the characters as much as they can for a live action version, they can't be too over the top cause they'll end up being cheesy and they'll loose viewers, they can't change the story cause there will be many disappointed fans.

I say stop psyching it out before you even watch the show. Appreciate what you got instead of dissing it before you try it and give the actors credit at least they're working hard to bring it to the small screen for you fans. Be reasonable it's not going to be perfect, be happy with what you have and enjoy the show for the "Live Action" version it is. It's not the anime so please don't compare every little thing to it. The actors are bringing their own flare, I can't speak for everybody but at least give it a thought ^^

    Hyoune Says:

I am severely dissapointed in the drama, the actor's appearance is definitely not appropriate for the characters they're acting in some part is just too sloshed. Yusuke's performance as Tamaki is commendable however he does not have any tiny resemblance to how Tamaki should look... they didn't dye his hair blonde even. I think they should have used a young boy for Honey-sempai's role... since being only one head shorter than the others does the character no honor. As for Haruhi, the plain just went overboard for her, her eyes, her face looks stoic no matter what she feels or what situation she is in.

Having so short a time, they should have used the exact events *lightbulbs and all* for the episode.
A real person can't be the exact image or do exactly the same things as an anime character, that is for sure. But more effort should have been made, a lot, a whole lot more effort.

You'll still laugh your ass off though, but the manga&anime fans also feel a bittersweet disappointment in between laughs.

I can honestly say that just from the first episode this is going to be one of my new favorite live actions made.
They did a good job with casting and the screen play, it's already sticking true to what the Host Club is all about.
I hope the ending is as good as the manga was. :D
I'm already pumped for the 2nd episode!

    Vanessa Says:

Haha. When I see Yamamoto Yusuke act as Tamaki, I'll be reminded of his character in Kamen Rider Kabuto. He played a princely, flamboyant character in that. Kawaguchi Haruni really looks like a 'pretty boy' in that shot. Now, my only quip is that why did they add Nekozawa in the Host Club main group?

I am really sad i thought it will be nice drama since i loved the anime but after the preview i am scared it will distroy the anime for me
i didnt like the way haru dress in the 1st episode they should try to copy the anime at this part i didn't know haru was agirl in the first scen
i dont find Mitsukuni cut or sweet i found him creepy the should cast a kid for that part i will give it a try i was looking for the drama since the anime
