Lily I have just finished watching this. From episode 1-9 I watch it carefully since I'm the typically do not want to miss even single scene when I love a drama. But with this after episode 9, I just watched it fast since I found it became boring and not really hooked me. The reason is the plot is not interesting, the feeling development of the male lead from his first love to his current love is not touching at all, the chemistry between Kim Sun Ah and Hyun Bin is not as good as with CSW in City Hall. It's seems to me Hyun Bin's acting here just flat and so-so. And one more I agree with an opinion from a person out there that there is nothing in the Sam Soon which is lovable. Besides, I cannot catch the "in love" feeling from both of them. Definitely not a drama that I will keep remember.

Collibosher I'm in complete agreement with our friend from Uganda @KHULE! Once I discovered Korean drama, I was finished with American television, for good. You can take your "reality" and I'll have mine, thank you. The lessons taught in these stories are far better and more socially redeeming than always allowing the "bad guys" to win, and enjoying the outcome when they do. 'My Name is Kim Sam-Soon' is one of the best of the lot. And Kim Suna would be in a class by herself, as an actress, if there weren't so many of her fellow country men and woman (and children!) who weren't also so incredibly talented..

Appletok If you're not gonna read this, at least know that this is great for anyone who loves Coffee Prince!

Wow. I finished this within a week, but I wished I took my time! This drama is a perfect, classy combination for a rom com. There are so many out there right now with fancier sets and expensive outfits, but they can never trump the humor and sincerity within the actors and dialogue. Quality over quantity.

There are a few themes set between men, women, and relationships (women who cheat versus men who cheat, male dominance in partnership, the idea that a woman's only goal is marriage) that I feel may cause some viewers to feel crass about the concept, but I'd like to contest that none of these are true themes to the storyline!! Sam Soon is an honest, non-submissive character; she already values herself, but comes to realize this fact that already existed, later on in the story. Sam Shik is great too, but the directors made it clear that the character development is really more for Sam Soon.

Sometimes you have to realize that Korean values are a little different when it comes to their goals and intentions portrayed on film. She may want to get married, but it's not about serving a husband, more along the lines of reaching the next step in her life as an adult which is being able to pass on a family. She learns to focus less on men and more on her own dreams, as well as understanding that life isn't perfect. This is what makes this show so much more relatable than all of these chaebol-marrying, a-few-tears-were-shed-but-now-we-happy dramas.

Nialee This is definitely one of the best Kdrama I have seen. I am watching it from time to time. The actors, the setting, the story line are really good. Then, there is that song that I am trying to buy that catches your heart. Sam soon is a funny strong natural beauty who deals with being full figured and poor (yes criteria sadly), Hyun Ji-Hun is a rich immature brat hurt by love and death who falls in love with old maid Sam Soon. The environment, their social status, so many are against that unfolding love... the team did a great job, but the leads showed what good acting is, head to toes they were Sam Soon and Ji-Hun. Kim Sun Ah is the best, Ji-Hun has proven himself too! Love and peace to all!!!\

YOU WILL LOVE THIS DRAMA AND WATCH IT AGAIN! please tell me who sings that rnb song, male voice with a great hook

Maha Best drama I have ever seen.i love u, hyun bin

liz i agree with comment 11, i am in Uganda, i first stumbled across it in 2007 from a foreign TV channel and caught a few episodes, but then one of our local channels brought it but i found it in the middle and missed some due to busy schedule but believe me i got hooked , i had to take day off on Monday to watch re-runs they kept changing and i called TV station many times until it ended, in my search for this drama i came across many Korean dramas and now i am hooked some people call me mama "jumong"(i watched this one too) cause i only watch Korean because of their decency, no nudity or bad language i even watch with children! ! no 11 where can i find this video ? i have looked everywhere

Sa.Ho BEST kdrama i have ever seen . who doesn't like this drama?! I watched it 100 times and i never get tired of it .

KHULE Stumbled upon it on television in Uganda, laughed my head off ,went out and bought a copy of the DVD, watched it for 2 days ,no sleep ! i loved it sooo much.now i'm hooked on South Korean drama ...just finished watching Secret Garden and i must say i think Korean drama is way better than American Series, more intellect is involved ,everything is deeply thought out and i really appreciate the fact that they are decent ,showing Great TV doesn't have to have bad language and nudity to be good.Sun Ah is a great actress cant believe she actually put on all that weight for the role,i couldnt even recognise her before and after pictures ,good thing i think its the greatest show i have ever watched and i 've watched ALOT :-)

John H Provocative tale with many interesting themes. Skilled storytelling. Excellent production values. Kim Sun-Ah is a first-rate actress and makes the most of a good role. Bittersweet ending. I'd recommend this to anyone.

Consus This is my favorite K-drama. It is the first drama/movie I watched and I have been hooked on them every since. I have watched this drama few times and always find something I had missed. There are some very funny parts. Some posters said they didn't like the ending and at first I thought the same way but as I watch more K-dramas/movies I have a better understanding of the ending. The ending in this drama was quite clearly defined and ambiguous too (I am not giving it away). Some K-dramas/movies have ambiguous endings and it leaves it up to the viewer to use their imagination to decide. Others have a message based on the fate of the character. Or both.

I like Kim Sun-Ah and find her quirky and funny. I think with MNIKSS she was type cast in to similar roles. I think she is trying to break out of it. She did a good job in "Fighting Spirit" which is much different "Scent of a Woman" although both deal with terminal illness. I wish she would do a romantic comedy with Gong Goo they are so good together in the movies.

faith at the end love is not the winner in this drama. and it is not supposed to be either. the drama is about life itself so at the end life just keep going. i guess kim sam soon is really unforgetable in this drama so all people remember her like that. she has acted in similar characters in others. but it gets boring and i think thats a shame of her because that make her seem that she cant act different charecters maybe thats why she acted in scent of a woman but it was no good. to be honest it was disapointing. lee dong wook is not that good either...

emi @p: "Not good end"? Seriously? I can't agree. Love is the winner so what exactly went wrong for you in it? For me, it was very good. Balanced. Iconic, indeed. I admit its ratings surprised me a bit - is it really that good? O_o Perhaps, I'm a bit shocked because those two are not in my personal top 5 Korean artists... Although Kim Soon-Ah's worked wonders for her role, didn't she? :) Anyway, the drama is amazing: it's funny, and light, and down-to-earth which honestly is sometimes better than many princess stories. I'd recommend it to anyone who wants to spend some time smiling and feeling generally good "just because".

lee Undoubtedly one of the most iconic K-dramas of the 2000s and nearly unprecedented in popularity, MNIKSS has a special place in every K-drama watcher's heart as the endearing Korean version of "Bridget Jones's Diary."

It's a heartwarming, gut-wrenchingly hilarious, and absolutely relatable story, and Kim Sun-ah effortlessly made it come alive with her trademark everyday-girl charm. The drama is a standard and a must-watch.

yanie i love hyun bin 4ever, his very handsome.....

moon i like hyun bin verrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrryyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy much.his smile makes me crazy................ dis drama s fantastic

p Not good end. But I like it :P I like hyun Bin so much

Samantha This was the first drama I ever saw. So it has a place in my heart. Cute, funny moments. Who doesn't love this drama?
