Plot
Four ladies live in the same public housing complex and they all lead unhappy lives, Mrs. Wong has been recently laid off of her job – picking up garbage, Mrs. Chan’s husband is involved in an extramarital affair with a much younger lady, Mrs. Lee’s husband and son ignores her to the point that she goes into the bathroom and cries by herself, while Cherry deals with the stigma of being a young single mother.
Even with these problems, the ladies somehow all get involved in a weekly belly dance class. Although at first they are not sure why they are taking the dancing classes, they quickly learn to love belly dancing and in the process re-discover qualities that makes themselves unique. Because of this they are able to provide each other with the support needed to overcome their very difficult home life situations.
