Bio

Born in Seoul, 1971. She studied fashion design at Sangmyung Women's University. She represented Chungnam Province for the 1992 Miss Korea Festival. She first starred in TV dramas, and debuted on film in 'Ghost in Love'. Since then she has gained reputation as a actor who really doesn't think of her made up images but the sincerity in the role. She does not pick out the roles that only shine on the outside, but the roles which has a real glimmer inside.

On September 17th, 2008 Jin-young Jang underwent medical tests. On September 22 the medical tests revealed that she has stomach cancer. On September 25th, 2008 Jin-young Jang was hospitalized because of her condition. She then spent a year hospitalized in America and returned back to Korea in August of 2009. Her conditioned worsened over the next few weeks and on September 1st, 2009 around 4pm at St. Mary's Hospital in Seoul, South Korea, Jin-Young Jang passed away due to her stomach cancer.[1][2]
