A family only in name, they lack affection and have lost all emotional connection to one another. There are no mutual interests in one another’s affairs, and their own relationships are mired in the routine and fragmented. These tenuous relationships take a turn for the extreme when the widow decides to sell her late husband’s old BMW and perhaps leave town for good.
