xinn I love her in Her Lovely Heels. She's tooo cute and beautiful. :))

Rizal she is great she is beauty she is melodious voice kara is the best

Pamela To Nara I agree with you about the drama... It is not historical it should be catalogued as fictional then maybe it would had have more success. And yes is a misleading show, they ruined good characters in history just to made Jang hui bin look good. I am Not fan of Dong Yi I haven't seen the drama but I had read history. I will watch the drama (I heard is way better than Jang Ok jung, will see.) Diana... .I had read that in other blogs, but funny enough they cant provide evidence, just speculation based in what they think could had happen just because one concubine died in 1703, but no historical evidence or whatsoever. but when I was trying to confirm this and read her biography and all the implicated in this story..there is nothing like that, actually annals of Joseon stated that consort Park died of sickness. and everything indicate her son had a very good relationship with Choi suk bin son. the fact that you called her suk won tells me you haven't even investigate for yourself and just repeat what others said. here is the link to wikipedia just follow the sources, don't worry.. you don't have to read the whole books but the cite pages. Have a good day :D https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Suk-bin_Choe

DramaLover Diana... you are totally wrong, about that the drama is historical, it is actually based on a novel. Where did you get that Choi suk bin actually have tried to kill other concubines, do you have any proof other than word? You are basing your facts in Jang ok jung blogs, where eveybody give their opinions with not facts or evidence... and thats even more misleading than the drama in itself, don't forget that the drama is a reinterpretation. Look all the others adaptations of Jang hui bin? in all of them she is an evil women. I don't think she was actually as evil as some of the dramas depicted her but she no was a pure and innocent girl who died for her love.

about Concubine Choi History recorded that Choi suk bin had a very good relationship with the other concubines, Yeongjo (choi suk bin son) even used to called mother to Yeongbin due to the close relationship between her and choi suk bin. It is well known that choi suk bin was the favorite of Inhyeon in 1701 when she was about to died she recommended to her two brothers, Min chin-won and Min Chin-hu to protect Suk bin and her son. (info taken from auto-biography book Tanam mallok of Min chin-won ) Your claim of Choi suk bin trying to harm other concubines came from the fact that Myong Park died in 1703, but annals of Joseon stated she was sick and died of illness. There is not historical evidence that support your claim other than your own imagination.

Choi suk bin was also the favorite of Inwon and when choi suk bin died in 1718 Inwon and Kim yeongbin protected Yeoning Geum, in 1721 when soron tried to kill Yeongjo he fled to Inwon who begged to soron members and reminded them Yeongjo was the son of Sukjong. Inwon used to say that she regarded Yeongjo as her own son (Book The Confucian Kingship in Korea: Yŏngjo and the Politics of Sagacity )Some people will said that Inwon was very thankful to Choi suk bin in 1711 when she came down with pox Choi suk bin did not gave up and sent her ladies in wanting to find remedies between the commoners, in the end inwon survived.

Also annals of joseon in 1704 stated that Sukjong bestowed choi suk bin Inyeon Palace... Not just a house but a palace!! Wow for someone who tried to kill concubines it is an amazing reward, then in 1704 when her son celebrate her marriage, king sukjong spend lots the money that even the nobles complained. There were rumors in palace about Jang hui bin using a shaman to course Inhyeon, According to Min chin-won Queen Inhyeon came to know about this rumors, Annals of Joseon recorded in 1701 to Min chin-won and Min Chin-hu informing Sukjong of Jang hui bin sorcery activities against Inhyeon, In compliance with Inhyeon last request to them before dying. the king could have ignored it but he chose to investigate and found out that Jang hui bin had hidden an altar between her quarters, if it was for pray for her son, who by the way was 13 years old and not even sick at the time,( the register does not show any sickness during and the three years prior to 1701)why she did not have the altar in the family temple to everybody view? to pray for health was not forbidden and even the kings mother had done it when the king fell sick some years before. Also the ritual that jang hui bin had done was typically used to course (like buried death animals near to the palace quarters, or the dolls of Inhyeon who were in the altar) Jang ok Jung did not died because Choi suk bin, but because she was in political game, made bad decisions and the king did not love her anymore. We will never know how exactly things happened but we know that in order to get rid of her, the king killed the unbelievable number of 1700 person, who opposed, just to get her death. (Lee, Bae-yong (2008). Women in Korean History and the History of korea for Homer Hulbert) According to choi suk bin memorial tablet in Paju her royal tomb, she was taken sick out of the palace, she desired to be close to her son and daughter in law, in 1716 sukjong received a note of Yeoning Geum saying that his mother health had worsened and asking medical help. Choi suk bin died in 1718. Interesting is that as soon the king heard about choi suk bin sickness he retired from politic and public live. what he did during this time, I don't know, so here is up to imagination. Choi suk bin died in 1718, she was buried according to the royal secretary diaries as a royal family member and was given a won type of tomb (for crown princes and crown princess), she was given a posthumous title. and the annals of sukjong of 1718 close talking about her as a woman full of virtues. Yeongjo was named crown prince until 1721 and made king in 1724. Although Yeongjo was very sensitive of her mother law birth origins his love for her impose not limit that he even fought to the court many years to have her as her public mother (he was legally Inwon son).in the end he achieve this.

diana To NaRa actually I disagree with you about jang ok jung movie sucks. And choi suk won actually have even tried to kill king sukjong's other concubine. To bad for you it is not a misleading drama.anyway even bad peoples in the palace achieve high rankings like choi suk won she achieved the bin rank. the act of choi suk won being bad was not purposely it is actually the real attitude of choi suk won. You also even get your facts wrong it is not just based on a novel it also history!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Anyway it is also her choice to take the role/part. If she didn't took the part/role she wouldn't be hated like this. Anyway I still hate her... Ok jung died because of her.....How did she know ok jung was praying for queen in hyuns death...she was actually praying for her son which is the crown prince........

mariana the best kara member! prettier than all of them and has the best voice

NaRa It is not fair to dislike her just based on Jang Ok Jung movie. Some more that movie also a sucks drama. It is a misleading drama. I think if you are a human who have brain will consider there are no good people in the palace who achieve high rank.. especially Jang Ok Jung. The act of Choi Sok Won as bad person is just to show Jang Ok Jung is good and the drama purposely mislead those who watching this drama. Is it just a based on novel not historical drama.

mind sorry before.. but i dont like your acting in Jang ok jung.. its like u dont know how to act..

diana To Mahdi Hekmatipour actually Choi Suk Won didnt have the queens position because later, after Lady Jang Hee Bin's death King Suk Jong gave an anoucement that no other concubine can become a queen but, thats not it Choi Suk Won even tried to kill the other concubines.Even though Lady Jang Hee Bin was separated from King Suk Jong when they were alive but at last they were back together because Lady Jang Hee Bin's tomb and King Suk Jongs tomb were moved to a place where their tomb was near with each other...While Choi Suk Wons tomb is far far away from King Suk Jongs tomb, and she even died in her own residence(outside the palace). Choi Suk Wons son became the next king (after Lady Jang Hee Bin's son) because Lady Jang Hee Bin's son dont have any heir to take the throne and become the next king. So thats what not makes her a fine and lovely person

Park Ji-Eun Great acting! Love her acting. Just don't act in film that requires u to have 'that' scene cause u are still young. Fighting..

Mahdi Hekmatipour i'm for those who hate Han Seung-Yeon Character (Choi Suk-Bin) in this drama,as an iranian i watched many korean drmas and read many articles about korean history from gojoseon until today.so i think i have enough information about characters.Jang ok-jung was a beautiful maid born by a low level concubine with a man from middle class in society.so she is like dong yi almost about family ranking somehow in that era of joseon.i haven't whtched this drama yet,but this drama is about lady jang,so writer&director must portrait ok-jung's personality better than she looked in Dong yi drama or even better than her reality.infact in dong yi,at the first 10 episodes i liked lady jang character, she was strong, smart, elegant.but these things should be shown more in Jang ok-jung Drama to see.anyway history says Jang ok-jung become a queen from a maid palace, that's awesome, but her greed for power pushed her to misery and death by poison.i'm sure in this drama director show Dong yi (Choi Suk-bin) as a bad woman who stole the king's love and in this was made ok-jung to do evil things.but in history choi suk-bin has been marked as a fine and lovely woman from a slave background who became a first rank concubine in joseon palace and gain king Sukjong's love just by her warm heart and kindness, but because she was not greedy for power like Jang hee-bin,she didn't accept the queen position

stephanie In Jang Ok Jung you don't deserve to get his majesty grace at all because you are evil and you even framed Jang Hee Bin for cursing the late queen, and your heir shouldn't be the future king...You should have died when Jang Hee Jae tried to kill you...You should be ashamed of yourself because you didn't get his majesty grace properly because you seduced him...Jang Hee Bin was loved by his majesty since she was small, but you stole it from her...

mejiana I super super hate you in Jang ok Jung.. You are really great in acting, maybe you shouldnt take roles like the one you took in Jang ok Jung because people will hate you even more...

Suk Bin I Love You in Jang Ok Jung

Smilee You're really pretty . . .BUT in Jang Ok Jung, I seriously hate you. Sorry & I hope you get a main role in a drama so that I can like you!

Naddy I like her the best in Kara, but I seriously hate her in Jang Ok Jung. But then again, it means she's a great actress. hehe :)

I hope she get to play the leading actress sometime soon. Fighting!

soona i am sooo sorry. you're really pretty but based from watching jang ok jung. i'm not liking the character you will portray. :<<< .. stressed =_=

Jekyung She is realy pretty and cute!^^

RiA you're more beautiful than what you look in urakara sis!! you're the BEST in kara FIGHTING!!!

longshot Beautiful young woman, as an american its hard to understand some different cultures for face value. The music that is produced is fun and happy and kept simple, which in a society that is deliberatly kept complex to confuse the masses and to manipulate control by those who have mastered the formula. Its a good feeling to take a few steps back. Miss Han Seung-Yeon is my favorite of the group because of the aura she gives in her performances duplicateing the above description. Clearly I do not know her personally, and unless the interviews and performances are all staged….. a simple and happy human being is always a sight to be appreciated, especially in person
