Plot
Set within the backdrop of a traditional royal cuisine restaurant named Arirang, "Feast of the Gods" depicts how two women grow as chefs through competitions with each other.

For 15 years, Sung Do-Hee (Jeon In-Hwa) and Baek Sul (Kim Bo-Yeon) received training to become the master chef and to run the traditional Korean restaurant Arirang. Today is the day, these two will compete for the honor to become master chef. Due to the pressure, Baek Suk burns herself while cooking and loses the competition. Sung Do-Hee becomes the master chef who will run Arirang restaurant. Sung Do-Hee, her husband Ha Young-Beom (Jeong Dong-Hwan), their son and daughter Ha In-Joo (later played Sung Yu-Ri) go on a cruise trip after winning the competition. That evening, her husband Ha Yeong-Beom asks for a divorce, but Sung Do-Hee refuses. While the other family members are sleeping, Sung Do-Hee slashes her wrist. Their young daughter In-Joo wakes up and finds her mother bleeding. In-Joo is shocked and wanders out onto the deck of the cruise ship crying.
Meanwhile, Song Yeon-Woo (later played Seo Hyeon-Jin) and her mom are on the same cruise ship. Yeon-Woo's mother has cancer and doesn't have many days left to live. That night, Yeon-Woo's cancer stricken mother heads out onto the deck of the ship and prepares to jump to her death. She left a note inside of her daughter's jacket, asking whoever takes care of her daughter to take good care of her. Yeon-Woo's mother about to jump off the ship, sees a young girl that has come out on the deck and is crying. The little girl is In-Joo. In-Joo loses her footing and Yeon-Woo's mother tries to catch her, but they both fall into the ocean.
Ha Young-Beom wakes up and discovers his wife Sung Do-Hee bleeding from her wrist. Soon, they notice that In-Joo is not in their room. The frantic parents and crew members search for In-Joo. Sung-Do-Hee collapses and is eventually hospitalized when the ship lands in Jeju.
Yeon-Woo doesn't know what happened to her mother. She looks all over the boat for her mom. Yeon-Woo gets off the cruise ship alone and wanders aimlessly looking for her mom on Jeju Island. Sung Do-Hee, who ran out of the hospital, finds Yeon-Woo wandering aimlessly and crying. Suddenly, Sung Do-Hee embraces Yeon-Woo and envisions the young girl as her own lost daughter In-Joo. At the hospital, Sung Do-Hee's husband finds a note inside of Yeon-Woo's jacket. The note is left by her mother and gives Yeon-Woo's name and also explains that the mother is stricken with cancer and please take care of my daughter. Since that moment, Yeon-Woo is now known as In-Joo.
10 years later, In-Joo (later played by Seo Hyeon-Jin) comes back to Korea after studying abroad. In-Joo is still uncomfortable knowing that she has taken the identity of another person. That secret is known only by In-Joo and her father Ha Young-Beom (who discovered the letter from her real mom). Meanwhile, the real In-Joo lives as Ko Joon-Young (later played Sung Yu-Ri). After she fell into the ocean, she was rescued and raised by a couple on Jeju Island. Since Ko Joon-Young's adoptive mother passed away, she lives with her adoptive father, who is addicted to gambling and is a heavy drinker. Joon-Young's life is not easy.

Thanks Lucy for letting us know about their real names, but are you sure that Jane is Lee Min Ji? I tried searching but couldn't get a proper picture of her. She looks nothing at all like how she was in the drama.

I hope the PD team will consider a sequel drama after the Feast of the Gods or increase 2 more weeks of Joon Young/Do Yoon and Ha In Joo/Jae Ha re-deeming, forgiving, happy, and caring love story. I love this drama and the whole cast. Very strong acting and the story line especially by Do Yoon and both Ha In Joo. the fake Ha In Joo's acting ability is amazing to watch. The best ever all around!

Our actor JSW is the man to follow! He doesn't pick on his projects for frivolous reason. He knew a character can give rise to controversy since he started acting. In the current situation, it is the internet medium that people misuse to achieve selfish agenda!!!
Only a handful of serious viewers are watching FotG in its entirety because they are after the story! Most DY viewers are after skinship and kissing scenes for all the wrong reasons! Misconduct was glorified heavily in the forum!!! Irrationality pushed them to bash & trash on JH/JSW, on the writer and on the fans who are rooting JSW and FotG!!! This is absolutely a personal attack!!!
In the end, it will bring down the entire FotG ship because of their selfish acts!!! The moment their idol is down, don't expect any assistance from these fans! They will jump ship just like they jump JSW ship when the goings get tough!!!

Haemil's secretary's name is Jane. In this drama, she's a Korean that was born in Korea but grew up in England. That's how she met haemil and became his secretary. But, this was playing in my mind for quite some time. Doesn't anyone feel that Jane likes haemil? But haemil likes go joon young. Haemil is Kim Do Yoon. Ahh..... How sad for joon young. She's like so left from everything. Huh?

She's already falling for Kim Do Yoon in episode 24 she was so jealous when she saw him to other girl (I dont remember her name she's Hemili's secretary or something). Oh and "Hemili", Kim Do Yoon has to reveal himself at least first to Joon Young, so there is a lot and just watching this episode my hopes got high for those 2 cus I know they have to end up together.

I agree with marita, but the thing is, president baek allows Do Yoon to be with joon young although she knows that joon young is director sung's daughter, which is her enemy. Yohanna veshanya just the same thing i was thinking, I Love those 2 together and I'm not really 100% of sure who will end up with who but hopefully Joon Young and Do Yoon hes just too perfect. Plus in korean dramas there is always parents involved, they always oppose something they don't like and that's how the whole story goes usually, so my thoughts are thats what the directors will do, Do Yoon is president Bak's son who hated Joon Young's mother she'll never allow them to get married. So it will be best if Joon Young really fell for Kim Do Yoon and end up together that will be the best ending ever.

They just want us to be curious and always guessing who will end up with who in the end. I also think that Jae Ha will end up with the fake In Joo cause I think that he might not be able to forget all the good memories they both had together before Jae Ha found out that the in Joo he was going out with before is actually someone else. Don't you realise? One more advice to everyone, try not to keep your hopes too high. Because this drama is quite long and complicating. We do not know what's going to happen in the end. Agree? For me.
Do Yoon’s love is never about himself, it’s selfless and beautiful. He doesn’t need to be the person standing next to Joon Young. He’s satisfied as long as she can smile. He only cares about her happiness, even when she’s with another man. His love has no ownership or self-professed credits while Jae Ha’s nose flares as soon as someone else approaches her, even before they were dating.
Therefore we would like Joon Young will end up with Do Yoon.

i just finish watching ep 19 and man that eping adapted child is so freaking annoying!! uurrrghhh i thought this would be the ending ep 19 because their gonna find out that shes the real daughter and not that other girl!!!truthfully i prefer sang wook, i want them to end up together, know that i know that theres 32 ep then there's a long way to go and lots more time for them to develop their feelings to each other, sang wook was always there for her!! and their story is always the interesting one!!!

Another JH-JY enthusiast here. I really think (and hope) that JH-JY is the endgame, especially because of the way things have been set up. Just because the first kiss was with DY doesn't necessarily mean anything, seeing as the whole first kiss=true love thing isn't as applicable as it used to be. I know of a few series where that wasn't the case. But anyways! As much as I love DY, and I guess I'll be okay if JY ends up with him, I just prefer JH.
I really, really wish I started watching this series after it was done airing. I'm crazy and like to know the endgame couple before I start watching so I can cheer for the right pair. I hate, hate, hate liking a couple that doesn't end up together. I thought I was pretty safe. I thought it was pretty obvious that JH-JY was endgame, then I went on soompi and here and saw a bunch of people hoping for DY, and now I'm a little shaken. I personally don't see how it could go that way (yet), but I guess the next few episodes will make things a little clearer, and make it a little easier to predict which way it's going to go... It's going to drive me crazy!! ARG!!

I hope the director will surprise us with more twist and turn. The story line is about strong women... from JH's grandmother down to the disciples and the current generation. Deceit, denial and manipulations are coming into the drama to make life difficult for the leading characters! Their angst becomes our angst while following the progress of the drama.
From the start, JH's love is meant for the real In Joo and vice versa when they met at UDO! It was that old feeling that brought them together without too many words or dates! Their love is on a road test now. Troublemakers are starting to break up their relationship! In the end, the catfight is among the females in this drama! The prize is Arirang! Whether the real In Joo will end up with JH or DY is the suspense of this drama! Along the way, let us enjoy the cast and their superb work!
To the hardworking people behind the camera, my kudos to you! This is the first Korean love story that I don't need to shed too many tears! It is so carefree and that's why I can't wait for the next episode! I hope this drama will become one of the classics in the long run!

Personally, I think Lee Sang Woo will be the one that Yu-Ri will end up with. Why? Because her first kiss was him. In every k-drama, first kiss determines who the main girl will end up with..agree? :)

Joo Sang Wook is extremely funny in this drama!!! Because of him, my weekend is full of laughs! This is the perfect drama for weekend viewing!!! Food, Comical Scenes & the tender love of JH to JY! Perfect combination!
JSW is getting better each time I watch him. I hope he will keep surprising us with his future projects! He is an intense actor from his most recent work in TEN but this one really shows the lighter side of him even though he got some serious moments in this drama!! He is very natural as a comic! I wish him all the best!!!

omg. i want to watch this drama so bad. but the subbers are kind of slow. i hope they sub quickly. i believe this is such a great drama. I didn't expect it for to be 32 episodes though. i hope everything in the drama better make since because I don't usually watch dramas that are way past 20 episode.

Looking forward to this drama. Love the three main leads. I wonder who is gonna be the main actor? Joo Sang Wook or Lee Sang Woo. I like Joo Sang Wook more. :)
