Praise to the production team.
Elegant and beautiful scenes and costumes.
The story is heavy. The villain wins in the end.
One of the must-see movie.
Don't miss this.

I agree . After all , at the time of its release it was the most expensive film in China . The costumes and the interiors of the palace were gorgeous !

Very overwhelming and theatrical in many ways. The scenes and action resembled a bit ballet in my opinion. All the characters, probably on purpose, overdid all their motions and spoken words to make them as slow and phlegmatic as possible. Visually it was one of the best movies I have ever seen.
