Plot
Set against the backdrop of metropolitan Beijing, "All About Women" tells the story of three women in the twenty-first century and how they deal with love.
Character A: 31 year old, senior executive of a large investment bank. A sickly looking university professor appears in her life. She never thought he would become her husband.
Character B: 25 years old, a radiologist, addicted to analyzing male patients' statistics, never expected that she would be analyzed by other people.
Character C: 20 years old, fascinated by internet dating. A man tried to lead her away from the internet, but he, too, was drawn into the virtual world and could not pull himself out.
Notes
- "All About Women" is considered a followup to Hark Tsui's Peking Opera Blues.
- English titled was originally called "Not All Women are Bad" but was changed to "All About Women" to appease Chinese censors.
- Film was originally to have its world premiere at Pusan International Film Festival (Oct. 2-10, 2008), but was pulled at the last minute for failure to receive clearance from the Chinese Film Bureau. Chinese films that play in overseas markets without the Film Bureau's approval usually gets banned in its home country. The delay was not due to sensitive material but bad timing caused by the week long National Day holiday.
