Plot
Ji-Hyun's (Nam Gyu-Ri) life seems to be storybook perfect. Her parents adore her and her friends all seem to admire her. Ji-Hyun is also engaged and set to marry her fiance Min-Ho (Bae Soo-Bin) in just a few days. Meanwhile, Lee-Kyung (Lee Yo-Won) is a woman who is completely distraught over her life and frequently contemplates suicide. She works the night shift at a convenient store, while sleeping in the afternoons.
On a fateful day, Lee-Kyung gets off a bus and wanders around. She then stands in front of a busy street and attempts to kill herself by walking into oncoming traffic. At that time, somebody saves her life by pulling her back. At this moment, Ji-Hyun, who is driving nearby, hits her breaks, but can't avoid the semi-trailer truck that has stopped in the middle of the road.
Moments later, Ji-Hyun walks out of her car in a daze. She is shocked to see herself being carted into an ambulance. The only person who seems to notice her standing in the road is a man on a motorcycle. The man on the motorcycle is the Scheduler (Jung Il-Woo) - an angel of sorts who awaits to take souls to their final destinations.
Ji-Hyun follows her body into the ambulance and watches as the paramedics attempt to revive her body. At the hospital, Ji-Hyun meets the Scheduler again. The Scheduler tells Ji-Hyun that if three people (besides her family) genuinely sheds tears over her condition within the next 49 days, her body will awake from its coma and she can live again. Ji-Hyun instantly thinks of her fiance and two best friends and is certain she will live again. For the next the 49 days, Ji-Hyun then takes over the body of the suicidal Lee-Kyung in her quest to find three such persons. Ji-Hyun gets a job at a restaurant owned by her friend (Jo Hyeon-Jae).
At this time, Ji-Hyun's memory starts to return to her. Before the accident, Ji-Hyun remembers going to see her best friend In-Jung (Seo Ji-Hye) to show off her bridal gown. When she arrived, Ji-Hyun saw her best friend and her fiance sitting together in a car. They looked so intimate sitting together. She was then driving to confront them when the accident occurred. Ji-Hyun now realizes that it won't be so easy to find three people who truly loves her ...

Didn't expect this drama to be so good! It is definitely better than Secret Garden. After a while, JI Hyun really started to look like a ghost/spirit to me lol. The ending was good and it was different.

I like the last part that you died in the story. Your acting reminds me of my sister who passed away very young age like you. She has a personality just like you acted in the movie. You remind me a lot of her. Thanks for the great movie. You are awsome. :)

good thing they took 1 and half episode to conclude everything,
cuz when it come to the ending,some korean directors just made it short.

i love this drama even though the ending is cruel... I love Nam Gyu Ri So much she's very admirable because she's very pretty and cute! the way she cries makes me fall in love with her even more :)

the only drama that made me cry the whole time. the story revolves around the family, friends and loved ones. the ending might not be as good as the other dramas but the twists are worth watching for. that's the reason why i love korean dramas..they are unpredictable..

First, I was touching by this movie... but I really upset at the end scene. it does not good at all why Ji-Hyun have to die. she should have chance to live again after she found the pure tear because she was dead once already. by the way, Song Lee-Kyung is the one who have in the list at the first time but she can live. hmmm... I really wish Han Kang and Shin Ji-Hyun are together... :((

i really LOve this Drama sooo much even though the ending is too Sad(for me) i was still happy 'couz 'til the end of drama Song Lee-Kyung and Han Kang manage to become friend and their love to their lover is still present.
1st I praise/adore the Writer Ms So Hyeon-Kyeong w/ out her this drama will never been aired on TV or taped with the great/Best K-pop like Lee Yo won. I was impressed at her .. Her charismatic of taking two character.....so Amazing..... no wonder she received two best actress award, and three excellent award (correct me if 'm wrong)....
In this Drama my Favourite scene is Episode 19 and 20. Specially at Episode 19 part 4 (were the Scheduler have given a chance to see and dated her fiancee Song Lee-Kyung. then after their sweet date, the scheduler need to end up their relation in order for Lee-kyung to continue her life without burden inside her heart, same as with the scheduler for him to live peacefully in his next life. but the MOST Painful part is when scheduler give lee-kyung a last Kiss!! huhu.. i love this drama
My second favourite scene is when kang and nam guri had a date @ episode 20-2 (b4 she died) and my 3rd best scene is when nam guri hug kang when he turned back at her.. @ episode 19-1(b4 Kang live for the US visit)
This drama is soooooooo Great!!! soooo captivating!!! 2 thumbs up with bow + 10star... to all Staff and Crew and Stars…

The ending of this drama is different because the director and the writers didn't give details to the story about Yi Kyung and Han kang, they want the viewers to analyze it for themselves to figure out if who will be the one to live happily ever after...lol.. but I guess its Yi yung and han kang who are going to live happily ever after. hehehe

THIS DRAMA IS ONE OF THE BEST DRAMAS I'VE EVER WATCHED! The storyline's really refreshing and the actors and actresses are beyond outstanding. KUDOS to all the staffs and casts! I love Lee Yo Won and Nam Gyu Ri's acting here. Gosh, I've finished watching this for over a month now yet I can't get over. I so love this drama!

Lee Yo Won deserved DAESANG for her hardwork in 49 DAYS, she's a rare gem... amazing baby face talented actress!!
there are many pretty faces out there, but so little with this cute baby face and natural beauty.. and so rare with this amazing acting skill.. she's so SUPERB in 49 Days, she's able to make the two characters alive.. we love Ji Hyun's character becoz she brings Ji Hyun's character developement so well and make sense will all the cuteness, but we're also moved by the Song Yi Kyung's sad Story and depressed character. the two are played very very well by Lee Yo Won.

SUPERB!!!!!! Most captivating drama I've ever watched... The final 2 episodes is very much unexpected. The fact that until now I feel sad on how it all turns out and d level of resentment towards Ji-Hyun's fate is extremely high just proves how moving d plot is... The writer excellently did well in dis drama. Not that I hate d ending but its just dat Im sick and tired of tragic love stories and I want a drama dis great to end in a way that d male lead will get d fruits of his hardwork and loyalty towards Ji-Hyun......
D biggest surprise in dis drama is Nam Gyu-Ri... I always tought dat she is very cute and beautiful but her acting in dis drama is very good.. She can be funny at times and pitiful at d most.. Im looking forward with more Nam Gyu-Ri dramas and I hope, a better ending for her... hihihi

Jang Il Woo so cute as "shinigami"..opps...scheduler as he said..ha ha ha.... and Jo Hyun Jye charming as always.....but the most impressed me is Lee Yo won....
her charismatic taking two character in one.....so ALIVE......no wonder she received two best actress award, three excellent award (if I'm not mistaken)....
she's so impressive...its not regret the producer choosing her...hope she'll get an award also this year....49days seem to short for me spending time with them.....

I came upon this drama on TV and stayed because bae Su bin ( hot) and I saw Jo hyeong jae (cute).
Then I came here to read what its about.
The last line in the plot made me think,"this is stupid."
I'm happy that I continued to watch.
Its great I'm eager to find out more, I just finished watching the 8th episode.
I just hope that the real song ki kyung gets more attention, it seems like everyone (or the lead males)
All are going fall for the girl who has everything but a body, shi hi hyung.
